Hevisto's News

Posted by Hevisto - April 21st, 2023

Hello!

It's been a hot minute since I posted anything on here, I got A-LOT happening right now in-terms of school, creative projects, etc. I'll list them out bellow and answer any questions that may be in the air:

  1. I am still working on Trimmersion, and that will probably be out sometime late-summer as I am occupied with not only school work but another project that should be completed in the near future here!

  1. The thing I am working on (as mentioned above) has been taking up a lot of my creative time but it is INSANLEY COOL. I am working with a group on something that should be out sooner or later here, and trust me when I say, its most likely not what you expect it to be. When that is out, I will for sure be nonstop talking about it on here and maybe make some videos talking about it when it does.

  1. COLLEGE SECOND SEMESTER FINALS! They have been taking up a lot of my time at the moment and have had a hand in the first decision regarding Trimmersion and what-not. So right now (until the summer) I will solely be working on both finals and the mysterious thing that I cannot mention just quite yet that should be out soon.

  1. This is just an update on life and such, because it just happens to be amazing right now: I am working on things that I love, creating things on my own and with amazing people whom I had the pleasure of meeting in College, and generally have been living life to the fullest. I don't usually talk about plain just "how I am feeling" but I want to this time because I am genuinely feeling super happy.

I am super excited to showcase and share the projects I've been working on, and a bigger one should be out of the gates here soon! And when it does I will 100% be promoting the shit out of it because everyone who has contributed has done some amazing work, and I am looking forward to promoting them as creators.

Thank you for reading, this has been an endeavors update from Hevisto, I'll catch you later!

-Ben

Hello!

It has been a hot minute since I've posted an update anywhere about what's been going on in general, so here we go we got some ground to cover:

  1. I've released a highlight track from the second part of my up and coming album Trimmersion! Listen here: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1185286
  2. The next track from the forest (Eclipse) is gonna be take a little bit longer than I expected, it is possibly the most ambitious single track I have created so far, and it is little by little coming together. Super excited to release it soon(ish).
  3. I've released a music video (kinda) for Preserver! Its a cool little visualization of what I think the world looks like in the song, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsU5wSLaWIs
  4. Making music takes a long time for me, and I've been thinking about making short term musical videos where it's a single shot with an ambient piece on it and its kinda like a little aesthetic, so I might start doing that in the future because I feel like that has a lotta potential to be something interesting.
  5. Whenever I am not making music, I am usually making (fairly) consistent vids over on the breakdancing muffin channel here (yep, the guy you see in those videos is the same guy who makes music over here lol, I make videos and I make music, just under different aliases): https://www.youtube.com/@breakdancingmuffin

Ho boy I think that is all that is on my mind, so now we're on the same page! Eclipse will be out eventually, maybe in a month or two tbh, I really want to take my time with this track until its detailed enough that I really enjoy the full listen (I will know when I am there, I've become a pretty good judge when it comes to my music being done) But that's about all I have to share, so thanks for reading up on it! I will see you in the future sometime...

Hello!

First off, if you have not listened to Dancing With Magic, GO ZOOM NOW!: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1170586

and second, now that all of the title tracks for the meadow are released, the next few songs you are getting from me will be from the second world in my up and coming album Trimmersion, "The Forest". Now just a reminder, the three tracks you have heard from The Meadow (the first world, songs like "Oceania", "Preserver" and "Dancing With Magic"), are not all of the songs in the meadow, just the ones I wanted to show people before the full album dropped. But, with that aside, I am INSANLY EXCITED to show you guys what I have in store for The Forest. Here is a description for the world and a reveal for the title tracks that I will be showing in that world before the album drops.

The Forest is a sinister world, dark and evoking feelings like fear and paranoia, but it also has some epic aspects to it as well. This world is mysterious, visceral, and often extremely adrenaline inducing. The two title tracks coming from this world will be "Lurker" and "Eclipse".

I hope to see you guys there and I can't wait to show people the contrast between the worlds in Trimmersion. I am insanely grateful for the feedback on my stuff, it always means a lot to me to have this place to share my work.

Thankful forever,

-Ben (Hevisto)

Welcome back to the Meadow!

Ok firstly if you have not listened to Preserver, GO ZOOM NOW! - https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1161379

Other than that, lots of love to those listening to Preserved and Oceania recently, Dancing With Magic will be out in the same time interval that Oceania had with Preserver. Also, thank you so much Newgrounds peeps for the frontpages on both those tracks! Really appreciate the love for my new personal project, it's always heartwarming and makes me realize how lucky I am to have the power to get my art showcased here.

Alright, so future plans are a-rolling! Dancing With Magic will be the next title track to come from the Meadow, then it's on to the Forest. I want to remind folks that the Meadow contains much much more tracks other than the three I'm sharing now, but I want all of those to come out with the entirety of the Album, so for now, the first three are all you're going to get, the full context will come out when Trimmersion drops!

Also another thing that I wanted to share, I'm in college at the moment studying game sound design, so if I ever seem absent or not active on here, it's most likely because I got classes. Other than that, college has been really fun, feeling like I settled in nicely and I have meet a lot of really cool people here.

Thank you all as always for listening, and Dancing With Magic will be the next thing to look forward to! Oh also, I may be making a video for Preserver, so when I find the time I will begin shooting that and then I'll edit it up like I usually do and share it on the channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQFXLE7RhPdsTU5r8FOnveg

See you all at Dancing With Magic!

Hello all!

The next track for Trimmersion will be out soon! I just scheduled it for release so we shall see where it lands and then it will be out late September! Sorry for the late date, been prepping for college for awhile, but now that I am here I should have some time in between classes as what I am studying (Game Sound Design) will be fairly parallel to what I am doing here. If you have any questions as to what I am up too (other than making the new album) feel free to ask!

Also, THANKS A TON FOR THE FRONTPAGE ON OCEANIA! I really appreciate the peeps pulling those strings for me, as Trimmersion is the next thing I am super proud of (once it fully comes out) and to be able to start it off with a bang is awesome! Thank you to all who may have used it in a creative project, and to those who have just been listening for fun.

Lots of love to all as always, and I will see you guys in September!

-Hevisto (Ben)

P.S. The next track (Preserver) will feature me singing, so heads up! Not the first vocal mix I have done but the first recording for vocals I have done, proud to say it turned out pretty descent and I am happy with the lyrics as well.

Welcome To The Meadow!

The first highlight track, Oceania, is out now to listen too! Super excited to be able to share the entrance into the Meadow, but also would like to dive deeper into explaining what "The Meadow" is for anyone curious.

The Meadow, is the first of three parts of Trimmersion (new album in the works) and Oceania, is the first of three highlight tracks, I will be releasing before the rest of the album. In total, the Meadow will have about... seven tracks? (Like I said album still in the works) including Oceania. All of these tracks form a bigger picture as to what this first world world will be. Bright, Triumphant, Dreamy, Nostalgic, and Lively. I couldn't think of a better track I am working on to showcase the beginning of the Meadow.

ALSO, I made a video showcasing the wonder of Oceania! I had a ton of fun working on in and I recommend it if you want to immerse yourself deeper into The Meadow.

If you haven't listened to Oceania, I recommend it highly: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1148478

If you would like to view the video I made on Oceania, you can view here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d45lQTZL7hI&t

Thank you so much if you have listened to/watched Oceania, and I hope you enjoyed the Start of The Meadow, and Trimmersion. Much much MUCH more to come!

Fist off, I made a lil thing just to kinda celebrate graduating high school and the feelings I have for that - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMXImk0t9Oo

Second off, I'm back!

Sorry for that long silence, the long and the short of it is that I've been finishing high school. But now that that is out of the way, I am excited to have some time in between my jobs to work on music and start making things again! I have been writing down loads of ideas with the little time I had in school that I want to try out here soon. Basically using the music that I have been making, to world build and practice editing in combination to find something that feels right. I thought I would share the entirety of my idea right here for anyone curious:

I will be making another album, but that will probably be finished far far far from now, like eta probably half a year or longer, BUT, (and this is a big but) I will be releasing and finishing what I think some of the best songs from the album are first ahead of time and making videos to fit the feel of each one on my YouTube channel! I have one of those songs on-route to be released in a few weeks here so look out for that, and the rest of them will be quite consistent afterward (hopefully).

Now for the idea for this album: Basically, the music that I have been making is mainly electronic, and is also all over the place in terms of mood and feel, so I will be releasing these songs in three segments, or three vibes/feels that will fit in the same world that the music will be in (it will make more sense when I release all the songs. Each world has its own style of music, and each world has its own visual vibe as well. I will be releasing some songs from the first world first, then the second world, and finishing with the third world.

Here are the names and descriptions for each world in the album coming:

World 1: The Meadow

Description: A carefree, happy, nostalgic, colorful world, this world has lots of beautiful chords and triumphant harmonies with some really cool and vast atmospheric sounds. I will be releasing songs from this world first.

World 2: The Dark Woods

Description: This world has inherently evil and epic sounds ranging from midtempo bass sounds, to medieval half-step melody's and large epic harmonies, this world is meant to fuel adrenaline as well as building something dark, sinister, and epic. I am extremely excited to share this world after The Meadow, as I have vastly improved when it comes to making this type of music.

World 3: The Dust Desert

Description: This world is by nature an aftermath, musically it is quite beautiful, It blends scales and harmonies together while also sounding broken at times. Utilizing both major and minor tones and chords, it key changes often but finds connections between areas of scales and unknown bridges to travel between music. It also sounds fairly dusty, and elegant, imagine a wisp alone in a vast desert and you would get this sound to accompany it. I am super proud of the music in this world and am excited to share it after I have shared some songs from The Dark Woods.

All this will make more sense once the entire album is out. I also want to reiterate that I will probably be showing the best songs from each of these worlds first, and then when I do that, I will release the entire album. If you made it here I really appreciate it and am happy you find my world building interesting! The music will be trickling out here these next few months, I will keep writing these news things every so often to keep people posted on where we are in the journey.

See you soon!

Hello peps!

Ok so a few things:

1: I made a remix! This has been a very debatable decision for me because I never really planned on creating another remix based on a few future plans (which I will get to). Although this particular remix kinda came out a lot better than I thought it would, so I decided to share it!

Although there is a problem for sharing the remix on Newgrounds, I read this in a post for terms of services:

"You aren't allowed to have ANY copyrighted samples in your song. Not even a millisecond, so don't even think about uploading that Soulja Boy remix. Movie quotes, game sound effects, acapellas of popular singers, etc... have a VERY good chance of being copyrighted, for example. "Fair use" does NOT apply on Newgrounds, as flash authors might want to use your song in a sponsored game or movie."

Since I did use the acapella from the song for the purpose of the remix, I am not sure that I can share it here. If anyone here can either verify this, or (best case scenario) prove me wrong because I would love to post the remix here, but until then, just to be safe, I will keep it on:

Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/hevisto-official/olivia-rodrigo-deja-vu-hevisto-remix

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITsMDlgpZic

2: Although the top one may be a bit of bad news, I have some good news as well: I am in the middle of constructing another album at the moment, and will be sharing the best songs bit by bit before the full release soon hopefully! I will share more information on what the new feel of the album will be, the name, genre, etc when I make the trailer for it, but stay tuned! I have new music coming so don't worry.

That's about it for the time being, thank you for your time.

-Ben

Edit: Ok, so I just found a couple remix's on the sight of pretty popular artists that are actually more sample heavy that what I have made... so I guess I can share it here!

Hello!

I wanted to give Portal (an album I made) a final send-off for awhile now, I did not know how. After some time I decided to create a little video where I cover meanings, music theory (kinda) for each song in the album, and just talk about how/where and mostly why this album was made. (Brace yourself though, its a deep dive of info kinda spastically thrown about)

If you enjoyed the album, or even a few songs on it and are curious, I highly recommend you check out the video I made (although it is pretty long lol)! I also made some custom audio for this specific video! The little lofi beat thing you will be hearing is made by me, and the final variation at the end of the "Portal Tailor Track" is made by me.

This will probably be the last folks will see from anything related to Portal, I am moving on to make more things now and already have some ideas and creations in the making! Portal is, so far, the best thing I have made and I am happy it reached some folks.

Alright, that's about it, thanks for reading!

-Ben

I am kinda baffled at the moment but also extremely thankful for my first ever frontpage! I cannot believe that "Spacing Out" caught the attention of Tom or Wade and meandered its way right smack dab in the middle of the audio features. Lots of Love to those who have listened and I hope the audio will be useful to anyone whether its creating videogames or just listening for fun. I don't really have much else to say really, I am just super grateful that a track I made has reached a mass of people. Thank you so much! I hope peps have an awesome next few days
